Where to buy Freeze Joined Jan 29, Messages 1, Location charleston. Does anyone know what chain or places that sells Freeze 12? Joined Jan 17, Messages 2, Location In the membrane between heavy metal and gas. You mean R12? Cannot buy it without a licence due to the high volitile organic compounds VOC's used to make the refrigerant. Wile E Coyote Out in the streets, they call it murder! No, OP meant freeze I found some locally from carquest, but I don't know how that will help you all the way across the country.
Ebay or amazon. I think he means freeze 12 which is the legal version of R12? Maybe I'm getting it mixed up. At any rate last time I checked it was on ebay. Also sometimes you can find mexican bought R12 on there as well.
Good luck. Try your local Napa, Carquest. I buy it at the local parts store around the corner here. Works well in my W I could never get to work well. This can include dirt , bent fins, the need for a more efficient p- flow condensor That is just the physics of the situation As I get older I use the opposite of your statement as my course of action.. That may be true That should reduce the probability of needing to flush it in your lifetime to pretty much nil.
But being COOL while stalled in traffic in the middle of summer here in Texas may be worth taking some extra care with the extra items needed to make your system work.
Upon reading way too many posts, and many inflammatory, I don't see any real reason not to give Freeze 12 a try Well good grief! I called the larger local Napa, and sure enough, they had Freeze So, I drive the half hour over there, wait my turn in line, get up to the counter and say " Freeze 12 please ". Is this true?? No time like the present to take that test. SD Blue. Sorry Jimmy, I'm afraid he is correct. Depending on your goals either a fuller retrofit with Ra or just continued use of R make more sense.

I have also heard RA was being used as a direct replacement for R But most garages were not reclaiming properly and taking advantage of customer confusion for retrofitting.
RA can be purchased by any "Joe Blow" at the nearest auto parts store down their street. No license required. Just the adaptors or refill kits available from the same store. R is a different issue now days. It is no longer available as an "over the counter" item anywhere. There is truth to the statement made by detectivedrew. But I also believe the statement about RA is just a misunderstanding.
Or, the repair shop's 50 year reputation is in question. Who knows? Jammer, I got my universal EPA license probably around Funny thing that I can buy a railroad car full of r but my local auto shop turned me down for a small can of it. Do auto shops require a different license because I thought a universal covered all of it. Any ideas?? Just trying to help people. Use r use I don't claim to have any expertise. Any forum moderator that feels my statement is too bold, erase it- thanks.
Denmarc, What you stated is what the repair shop told me. Thanks for adding expertise to the conversation. I have not had any issues with this product at all.
